Madhulika Sikka is a media executive with more than two decades of experience across all platforms - video, audio, digital - creating content, launching new initiatives and managing high performing talent.

Currently she is Vice President and Executive Editor at Crown Publishing, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Prior to that she was Executive Producer of Audio at The Washington Post where she launched their premier daily podcast, Post Reports, from conception to launch in under 90 days, exceeding the first month goals by fifty percent.

For several years she was an independent media consultant for a variety of media entities including The Daily Beast, WNYC, Penguin Random House, WAMU, Takepart/Participant Media advising on editorial, talent and organizational strategy. She also served as the public editor of PBS. 

She has worked for NBC News in London and CBS News in Tokyo.

She was at ABC News Nightline with Ted Koppel for more than 13 years where she rose from researcher for Koppel to senior producer of the broadcast. She left ABC News for NPR in 2006 where she served as executive producer of Morning Edition, the most listened to radio news program in America. Then, Sikka became executive editor of NPR News, overseeing domestic and international coverage, including 17 overseas bureaus, setting the standard and vision for NPR’s coverage. Following a stint at digital-first outlet Mic, her consulting and time at PBS led her to The Washington Post.

She is a recipient of multiple awards for her journalism including Emmys, duPonts, Peabodys, as well as from NABJSAJA, the RTNDA and the RTCA. Sikka is also a writer and author. Her book, A Breast Cancer Alphabet, was published by Crown in 2014.  In 2017, she created and curated a book discovery project, 52 weeks 52 books 52 women, a website and podcast.
